What makes you a Risky Woman?

I’m a well-regarded and sought after commentator and communicator on all aspects of compliance and risk governance. I am also the author of many popular reports, blogs and articles with regular podcast and TV appearances.

Name your top 3 achievements

  1. As Compliance Director getting start up global investment bank (Caspian Securities, which sold the emerging markets into the emerged) up and running in multiple jurisdictions and then successfully overseeing the risk and compliance function throughout its entire life.
  2. Getting a new podcast – Compliance Clarified – off the ground and, as the inaugural host, building it into a successful offering with thousands of subscribers which is still going today
  3. Approached by Bloomsbury Professional to co-author ‘Conduct and Accountability in Financial Services: A Practical Guide’ which was very well reviewed and is on the reading list for several professional exams. A second edition has been commissioned.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?

Leaving a head of compliance role to join Complinet – scary but brilliant – transferring my risk, compliance and governance knowledge into commentating on the challenges.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I am a qualified driver of a horse and carriage!

What is the best quality for successful leaders in Risk?

Self belief!
