I’m a Risky Woman because I’m comfortable challenging the status quo with evidence and empathy. I take complex technology, cyber and governance risks and translate them into clearer decisions for leaders. I also back myself in new spaces—board roles, public speaking and mentoring, to open doors for others.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?

The biggest risk I took was betting my reputation on emerging technology risk—moving from established audit routes into cyber, cloud and AI assurance, before proven playbooks and established regulations. I chose stretch roles, assignments, spoke up early, and kept learning in public. It accelerated my impact and strengthened board-level decision-making.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I’m a beekeeper and a proud member of the Thames Valley Beekeeping Association. This experience has provided me with a sense of environmental stewardship as well as contributing to my overall wellbeing.

What is the best quality for successful leaders in Risk?

Curiosity with courage: the discipline to ask better questions, listen hard, and then act especially when the answer is uncomfortable. It means challenging assumptions, connecting data to real-world impact, turning messy information into clear narratives and staying calm when the facts shift.
