What makes you a Risky Woman?

The nature of my personality likes to take risks in life to possibly achieve the award the risk taken would produce. I think this makes me a good candidate for a risk manager as my mind constantly evaluating the risk and reward of my actions in my life which is useful when assessing risks and rewards for my clients.

Name your top 3 achievements

  1. Leading iGroww at Protiviti Australia where we introduced and achieved goals to reach and maintain gender parity in leadership positions.
  2. Leading ProMIND at Protiviti Australia to support our staff to manage and maintain their mental health and wellbeing.
  3. Nominated as Diversity Leader at Women in Banking and Finance Awards in 2021.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?

I have always chosen my next move in my career through asking myself the following questions:

  • Will I learn and grow in this new position/organisation/leader
  • Will the skillsets I learn in this new position enable me to reach my ultimate goal
  • Will I have the support for career development/growth opportunities.

With these considerations, I have made choices that not many people would choose and I am happy to say I am very pleased with my choices thus far. My analysed and informed risk taking has provided the rewards I sought after.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I find most people get surprised when they find out either of the following:

  • that I am a Scuba Dive Master or
  • that I am a certified mindset coach

What is the best quality for successful leaders in Risk?

There is not one quality that makes successful risk leaders, but in my opinion, professional skepticism and common sense are key to have a successful career in risk management.
