Garima leads the team of subject-matter-experts to help institutions meet their financial crime, compliance, and operational risk requirements through innovative technologies such as Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence & Graph.

1. ​Finalist – One to Watch category the Women in Finance Awards Canada, 2019Garima was shortlisted in the One to Watch category at the inaugural Women in Finance Awards Canada, 2019. The awards ceremony saw 16 award winners amongst the respective categories recognizing the high-achievers, advocates and role models for women in Finance.
2. Implementation of Operational Risk Solution at Largest Chilean Bank in 2010. Garima single handedly managed a complex process including supporting various areas of deployment like UAT, production migration & go-live.
3. Oracle Solution Consultant of the Year Award – Garima was awarded as solution consultant of the year award in 2021 for contributing significant business growth in fin crime compliance growth in North America.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?

In 2014, Garima moved from India to the USA in a completely new role and domain (from operational risk to fin crime compliance). Garima was totally new to the working culture in North America and domain. Through Garima’s management support she worked on her customer engagement, domain skills and established herself as a leader in this space. Now Garima heads the Solution Consulting team for North America.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

Garima started a non-profit called Moma for Daughters to support under-privileged kids from her ancestor village in India, in memory of her mother whom she lost on Mother’s Day 2021. Garima manages her non-profit in India while living in the US.

What is the best quality for successful leaders in Risk?

Bringing diverse opinions to ensure risk areas/problems are not overlooked. Also, not afraid to take risks as far as there’s mitigation plans around it.
