Ellis is Executive Director of Canada’s only think tank for financial technology and leads its artificial intelligence initiatives. Her work has led to projects with Google, Audi, Visa and more. She has led a financial crime unit and is a global speaker, including at the FATF on risks of Bitcoin.

What is the biggest risk you’ve taken in your career?
Electing to lead a financial crime unit in a new evolving area of digital currencies which involved pressurized learning on the job in real time.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I am a PADI certified search and rescue diver, qualified to rescue and recover humans from disasters in the deep sea.

To be thorough, and meticulous on risk mitigation cases.
