The role of risk management is being fundamentally challenged. Boards and executives are asking whether traditional approaches to identifying, assessing and reporting risks are truly improving decision-making, strengthening organisational performance and helping deliver strategic objectives, or whether they have become disconnected from the outcomes they are intended to support.

This panel will explore resilience through a business performance lens. Rather than debating frameworks or definitions, it will examine how risk management and resilience work together to enable organisations to make better decisions, adapt more effectively and continue delivering their most important objectives when disruption occurs.

Drawing on practical experience across governance, risk, resilience and executive leadership, the discussion will explore the organisational capabilities that underpin resilient performance, from anticipation and risk insight to decision-making, adaptability, learning, culture and leadership.

Ultimately, the panel will ask whether resilience should be judged not by the sophistication of risk frameworks or crisis plans, but by an organisation’s ability to consistently achieve its strategic objectives and create value despite uncertainty.
