The Balmain sponsored Risky Women event kicked off in relaxed surrounds with a welcome drink and an immediate opportunity to network. Very quickly the room was filled with the bustle of introductions, old connections reconnecting and new connections being forged.
Jenni Neumann, Balmain COO and Corporate Ringleader officially kicked off the event with an acknowledgment of country, an introduction to Balmain and an overview about the Risky Women network.
The evening continued with our keynote speaker, Kim Chandler McDonald, giving a compelling and thought provoking presentation about Technology Based Domestic Violence (TBDV). Kim shed light on the growing prevalence of digital abuse, the impact on it has on victims, and the urgent need for robust regulatory frameworks to protect vulnerable individuals. Kim opened the floor to a powerful discussion surrounding the roles each business plays in protecting their clients/users from TBDV. Attendees commented that they felt better equipped to address these pressing challenges in their respective industries and actively discussed this challenge well after Kim’s presentation had ended.
Clearly a topic that had a significant impact and truly leveraged the Risky Women Network to start the conversation.
Thanks to all who joined us – looking forward to the next Sydney event!
Many thanks,
